About the Institute

Established in 1972, the Institute has made significant headway in training and research in applied aspects of the Criminology and Forensic Science.  Over 31,000 officers from Police, Civil Administration, Prosecution, Judiciary, Correctional Administration, Customs, Defence and Forensic Science Laboratories have attended various courses and Seminars at the Institute.  Officers from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Fiji, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Malaysia, Maldives, Sudan, Myanmar, Nepal, Palestine, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Uganda and Zambia have also participated in some of these courses.

The Institute also conducts M.A./M.Sc courses in Criminology, and  Forensic Science under affiliation with GGS Indra Prastha University.
Information to Trainees
Participants are requested to bring Registration Form duly filled up and hand over the same at Reception when they arrive in NICFS.
Return Journey: The Course will conclude at 1800 hrs. on the last date. Hence, return journey must be booked accordingly keeping in view local travel time from the Institute.  Participants are advised to book their return journey well in time as there is long wait list in trains/flights out of Delhi and NICFS does not have a separate quota.

Accommodation: The Institute offers modest in-Campus accommodation on single occupancy basis with catering facility on payment of prescribed charges.  Families are not allowed in short duration courses. Families must not be brought unless confirmed by Institute in writing. Suits extremely limited and must be booked in advance on phone No. 011-27525084 and 27521091.  Orderlies, Servants or pets are not allowed.
Weather: Delhi has extreme climate. Temperature varies from 12 0 C to 46 0 C during Summer (April to June) and 1 0 C to 32 0 C  during Winter (December to February).  Course Participants are advised to bring suitable clothing.
Medical: The Institute does not have its own medical facility.  The nearest Hospital are Jaipur Golden Hospital(next door), Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital( 2 Km)
Dress: No formal dress is prescribed. However, casual clothing or sleepers are not permitted.
Note: Certificate of participation will not be issued to those participants who miss one day’s schedule in a week’s course.
